St. Aidan's Services are looking for suitably qualified and motivated Relief Social Care Workers to join our Relief panel to provide supports across our range of services. Our Relief Social Care Workers role will promote and deliver safe person centred care, ensuring regulatory and contract compliance.
This is a great opportunity for individuals who have successfully completed their third year in Social Care with ongoing enrolment in the fourth year who have a genuine interest in gaining valuable experience and in pursuing a career in the ID sector.
Due to future service developments & increased required supports, there is current/future potential across our services for Relief/Social Care Workers for career advancement and full-time employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities & requirements (but not limited to):
- Provide person-centred and empowering provisions of support, as per individual needs assessment.
- Ensure the Human Rights of each individual is exercised with the upmost degree of integrity and respect.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times.
- Ensure each individual is encouraged to live in accordance with their own wishes and preferences, and their individuality promoted as far as possible; through new opportunities, promotion of skills and innate abilities.
- Ensure that each individual is being afforded with the correct information to allow for informed decision making on their part at all levels.
- Ensure each individual is supported in the least restrictive of ways and positive risk taking is a given element to their decision making abilities.
- Support must also be in accordance with a low arousal and non-aversive manner.
- Personal outcomes are achieved in keeping with each individuals, with clear goals, steps for achieving such and timeframes.
- Ensure that supports are prioritised and key commitments kept accordingly
- Work in line with evidence based practices.
- Ensure that each person is supported to live life to their fullest potential, and remain (or become) socially valued members of their communities.
- Facilitating community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
- Ensure the effective implementation of New Directions in Day Services
- Have a knowledge of HIQA & regulations
- To participate in the delivery of training services as required.
- Assist each individual with advice, instruction and support where appropriate.
- Assisting/supporting with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Ensure that you work in a positive manner and professionally contribute to your staff team and wider organisation
- Maintain folders, written reports and risk assessments.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ensure all other practices are in place to Safeguard individuals medications and monies are exercised accordingly, as per policy
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, regulations and working practices of the organisation

Qualification/Requirements:
- Hold a Level 7 Qualification in Social Care (Foreign Equivalent validated by QQI)
- Have at least three months experience of working with adults with an intellectual disability.
- Must hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to drive company vehicle
- Have the legal right to work in Ireland and currently hold valid work authorisation for Ireland
- Profiicent in both oral and written english language
