When disasters happen, Remediation Technicians at On Side are truly on ‘your side’. Asbestos and mold can pop-up anywhere and requires special knowledge and experience to deal with. Remediation Technicians can perform remediation services while protecting the health and safety of workers and clients.

What You’ll Do
- Ensuring a safe work area from asbestos and mould by knowing how to remove and remediate potential dangers from the work site
- Identifying and disposing of asbestos and mould contaminated materials
- Cross training into other areas
What You Bring
- Asbestos Level 2 Certification (we will check)
- Basic carpentry skills to build containment
- Ability to perform work following procedure and legislation
- Clean shaven face (if applicable) for every shift (for full mask fit)
- Willingness to wear full PPE as required for duration of shift
- Cleanliness of site, vehicle, and tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow scope of work
- Organized with a good sense of time— you’re rarely late and know where all your tools are
- Physically fit— remediation can, at times, include heavy lifting (50+lbs)
- Comfortable in confined spaces
- Friendly and enjoys working in a team!
- A safety-first mindset
- Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

Application question(s):
- Are you able to wear full PPE and work within containment as required for the duration of your shift? Tell us about your experience with full PPE and working in containment.

- Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule (Responding to emergency calls after business hours)? This is additional to scheduled daytime hours as per the schedule. Premium and overtime is paid.
- Do you have basic carpentry skills? This position requires the Remediation Tech to build showers and containment walls as needed.
Please describe your experience using hand and power tools:
- Will you be clean shaven every shift (if applicable) so that full face respirators will fit properly?

- Are you comfortable driving a tall/large fleet vehicle around the city and parking in residential streets? If not experienced, are you willing to learn?
Are you able to provide a clean driver's abstract?
- Cross training is required for this role. Successful candidates will be trained in Demolition, Fire and Water Damage. Are you able and willing to train and work in other roles?
- Have you ever worked with hazardous materials besides asbestos and mould? Tell us about your experience with remediation and what makes you qualified for this job.
- Are you physically fit? This position can be physically demanding and requires a person to bend, crouch, reach, kneel, etc. Please let us know if you have any restrictions.
- Do you have any valid (or expired) Asbestos Remediation, Mould or other remediation tickets? Type 2 or Type 3 Operations tickets? Please list them all here.
Experience:
- identifying and disposing of asbestos: 1 year (preferred)
- demolition: 1 year (preferred)
- identifying and disposing of mould: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Canadian Driver's License (unrestricted) (required)
