Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic music equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of musical instruments and gear, including amplifiers, mixers, synthesizers, pedals, digital pianos, electronic drums, and other electronic devices. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for music technology.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electronic music equipment, including amplifiers, mixers, keyboards, synthesizers, effect pedals, digital pianos, electronic drums, and more.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify faults and ensure proper functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and firmware updates on electronic music devices.
- Solder and replace electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits as needed.
- Liaise with suppliers for troubleshooting support and procurement of spare parts.
- Liaise with customers to provide resolutions for their repairs and answer their inquiries.
- Liaise with HQ warehouse and our own retail stores for product returns and internal repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service timelines.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding equipment care and maintenance.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and developments in electronic music technology.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace, following safety guidelines and best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an electronic repair technician, preferably with musical equipment.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, troubleshooting techniques, and soldering skills.
- Familiarity with various brands and models of electronic music equipment.
- Ability to read schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or diploma in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in a music store, service center, or similar environment.
- Passion for music and familiarity with musicians' needs and preferences.
