Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Research and Development Mechanical Technician to join our innovative team at SPT Solar Shading Solutions. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies, collaborating closely with the Technical Manager and other stake holders to contribute to groundbreaking projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the research and development activities by assisting in the creation of prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve product features and functionality.
• Conduct experiments and document findings to inform product development decisions.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and specifications for new products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related science.
• Familiarity with basic research methodologies and product development processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software and design tools such as FEA simulation and analysis.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
• Internship or project experience in a research or development environment.
• Understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes.
• Hands on technical skills, machine operating skills, and relevant technologies.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoDesk Inventor Pro, AutoCAD, Solidworks, MasterCAM).
• Basic programming skills (e.g., Microsoft Visual Basic, Python, MATLAB) for data analysis.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, innovation and quality with a strong attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $38,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
