We are seeking a Research Assistant with qualitative research expertise to join a team undertaking the most comprehensive UK-wide study of social security and devolution funded by the Nuffield Foundation. The project – Safety nets: Social security for families in a devolved UK – is led by the University of York and brings together a large multi-disciplinary team from academia, lived experience and policy making.

At Salford, the role sits within the School of Health and Society, in the Centre for Research on Inclusive Society (CRIS), which seeks to advance knowledge on inclusive policies and practices, informing policy development and social change. As a research assistant within this Centre, you would be part of a vibrant research community, with opportunities to attend regular seminars and events.

The research assistant will join a team that is delivering a workstream focusing on local discretionary welfare provision in case study areas across the UK. The findings of this research will provide a valuable resource for policymakers and practitioners.

This post is offered on a fixed term contract for 14 months as 0.6 FTE.
