The successful candidate will join the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and New Technology (EINT) research group, which conducts cutting-edge interdisciplinary research on entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, and innovation. EINT generates impactful insights for business leaders, policymakers, and academia, specializing in novel phenomena through innovative data sources and analytical methodologies.

Your role

The candidate will work on an industry partnership project in collaboration with:

  • Wixdom, a Luxembourg-based FinTech specializing in investment crowdfunding market analytics.
  • FINATRAX, a research group within SnT focusing on decentralized technologies and their organizational impacts.

This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile, interdisciplinary project with real-world applications at the intersection of entrepreneurial finance and AI. The objective is to develop an AI-powered mentorship tool designed to help entrepreneurs set up and optimize their fundraising campaigns. Leveraging extensive public crowdfunding data, this AI-driven tool will deliver personalized, data-driven guidance informed by real-time analytics from thousands of crowdfunding campaigns, enabling entrepreneurs to enhance their fundraising outcomes.

The research associate will take primary responsibility for conducting the entrepreneurship-focused research aspects of the three-year project. While the overarching research agenda is established by the funded project, the researcher will have substantial autonomy in determining optimal methodologies, analytical approaches, and strategies to achieve the project's objectives. This role is ideal for a researcher passionate about conducting high-quality academic research while actively collaborating with industry partners to generate real-world impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deriving novel insights from crowdfunding data to guide AI tool development
  • Creating entrepreneurship-specific indicators and bias metrics tailored to mentorship via LLMs
  • Conducting empirical research on how entrepreneurs interact with AI-driven mentorship solutions

Beyond the core project, the candidate will also:

  • Provide guidance to PhD students
  • Publish research findings in top-tier journals and present those at leading scientific conferences
  • Contribute to securing national and European research grants
  • Be able to develop their own research profile

Your profile
  • PhD in Entrepreneurship, Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research, ideally involving large datasets, AI applications, or FinTech
  • Strong research record, evidenced by publications in reputable academic journals
  • Proven capability to independently manage research projects, especially those involving collaboration with industry stakeholders, while balancing academic rigor with practical impact
  • Proactive, autonomous approach combined with creativity, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to generating research with tangible real-world relevance
  • Fluent written and oral communication in English (knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is NOT required)
