The School of Medical and Health Sciences
The School of Medical and Health Sciences is home to teaching and research in Medical and Biomedical Sciences, Allied Health, and Exercise and Sports Sciences, as well as in Public, Occupational and Environmental Health. Our world-class research is rapidly translated to provide solutions to some of the key health issues facing our community.
Established in 2003, the Exercise Medicine Research Institute sits within the School of Medical & Health Sciences and houses an innovative, multidisciplinary and productive research team in Exercise Science dedicated to investigating the extent to which exercise can be employed in chronic disease management, principally cancer, to materially improve patient outcomes.
You will join a dynamic research team committed to advancing cancer care through high quality clinical trials in exercise oncology. The team’s unique convergence of clinical patient care, exercise medicine, and innovation in health interventions has underpinned our achievements in cancer research. The team collaborates with leading investigators, sponsors, and multidisciplinary practitioners to deliver innovative treatments and improve patient outcomes.

About the Opportunity
The Exercise Medicine Research Institute at Edith Cowan University, is seeking a Research Coordinator to support its research program. The position will coordinate research projects and clinical trials to meet specific objectives, whilst supporting a team of multi-disciplinary and productive Researchers in Exercise Science.
The Research Coordinator will provide strategic and operational (day-to-day) support to the Exercise Medicine Research Institute’s research programs, people and projects. They will have a crucial role in facilitating research outcomes in addition to proactively developing the research profile; supporting grants and funding applications; developing and implementing research policies and procedures and research administration duties.
The position will be responsible for coordinating all research related tasks and providing administrative support to the Chief Investigators from implementation to closure of a project, inclusive of any other research administrative duties as required.
The successful candidate will:
Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen the research agenda and research outcomes of the Exercise Medicine Research Institute
Ensure confidential research data is obtained, handled and stored in accordance with current data protection and ethical regulations.
Draft and submit research reports as guided by Principal Investigators
Develop and nurture internal and external research partnerships and networks
Support ad-hoc Institute projects that enhance research output opportunity and connectivity between various departments
About you
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a collaborative environment. You demonstrate initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
You'll bring with you:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Exercise Science, Health Information Management, Clinical Trial Management, or related field.
Understanding of medical terminology, oncology and a passion for exercise science
Excellent written and oral communication skills alongside the confidence and experience to build relationships with core stakeholders
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
You will be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience in clinical trial coordination (desirable).
Experience in data collection, basic analysis and preparation of manuscripts and research reports
