About the role

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering is looking for a Research, Finance and Operations Administrator to provide day to day financial administrative support to Senior Finance and Research Officers.

The postholder will be responsible for processing financial transactions within the department, promptly, accurately and in accordance with UCL’s Financial Regulations. They will also assist in the administering of data for research grant funding proposals, providing figures and statistics as requested.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Systems (MyFinance & Axiom)
Financial Processing & Procurement
Research Grant & Funding Administration
General Finance Administration

About you

Applicants should be educated to Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant qualification in finance or accountancy, or having acquired relevant experience in managing financial processes. They will have proven experience of providing efficient financial support in a complex organisation, including the experience of online financial systems.

A good knowledge of Excel, including the ability to understand and use numerical formulas, is required. The successful applicant will possess a high level of numeracy, with the ability to understand and interpret figures and statistics and undertake standard calculations. They should have knowledge of financial processes and regulations associated with general financial administration.

Applicants should show a commitment to customer focus and the need to provide an efficient, professional and effective service to the many users and contacts both internally at all levels of the organisation and externally.

This role is available for internal applicants as a secondment and for external applicants as a Fixed-Term until the 30/09/2025.
