Working under the direct supervision of the Group Lead, the Research Officer will assist in delivering high-quality experimental and technical research services to support the lab's program outcomes.
This role involves conducting in vitro experiments using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), applying advanced techniques such as cardiac differentiation, CRISPR genome editing, and multi-omics. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of laboratory-based tasks, including data collection, analysis, and maintaining accurate experimental records to ensure research integrity and reproducibility.
The Research Officer will also participate in routine lab operations, contribute to data presentation, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives to support the team’s mission of discovering novel therapeutic approaches for children with rare genetic diseases.
About Us:
Established through a joint venture between Monash University and the Victorian Government, the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) builds on the University's existing strengths in biomedical research, and supports the critical infrastructure required to deliver the next generation of discoveries in regenerative medicine.
The Jaffré Group, based in a world-class research environment, is dedicated to understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of heart disease in children with rare genetic syndromes. We utilize innovative tools including 3D cardiac organoids, engineered heart tissues, and CRISPR technologies, with the ultimate goal of identifying targeted therapies that can change lives.
