Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Real Estate Appraiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will evaluate residential and commercial properties to determine their market value, supporting clients, lenders, and investors with accurate and comprehensive property assessments. This role requires a strong understanding of real estate markets, appraisal methods, and local regulations. Responsibilities
Primary Job: Research Assistant to a group of commercial real estate appraisers.
- Maintain lease database
- Keep filing of plans up to date
- Assist in maintaining sales database
- Research and write-up of commercial real estate sales downloaded from RealTrack on a regular basis
- Calculate site areas using Deed Plotter
- Communicate verbally with real estate agents/vendors to obtain further details concerning sales
- General research concerning the real estate market
Secondary Job: Serve as back-up to our Administrative Assistant (fill-in for sick days, holidays, or overflow work as required).
- Corrections to appraisal reports
- Inserting photographs and exhibits in appraisal reports
- Photocopying and/or scanning reports
- Binding of appraisal reports
- Invoicing
- Making necessary arrangements with couriers for pick-up and drop-off
- Assist in maintaining sales database
- Prepare bank deposits
- Order supplies
- Reception duties
- Filing
Experience
- Prior experience in real estate appraisal or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant internships or training programs are also valuable.
- Strong knowledge of real estate markets, property valuation techniques, and relevant legal regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate property assessments.
- Proficiency in using appraisal software, spreadsheets, and report-writing tools.
- Effective communication skills for explaining complex valuation concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Certification or licensing as a licensed or certified appraiser is a plus but not required for entry-level positions; ongoing professional development is encouraged. - A university degree is required with preference given to a degree in Business or Commerce

Pay: $46,308.91-$55,000.00 per year
