Basic Job Overview (Summary)
This position is a Residential Community Supervision Officer (RCSO) at a Community Residential Treatment Center (CRTC). The primary role is to supervise individuals placed in the residential program by the courts, ensure they comply with court-ordered conditions, support their rehabilitation, and maintain public safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise residents and monitor compliance with court orders and CRTC rules.
- Conduct case management, including assessments, goal setting, and progress monitoring.
- Meet regularly with residents to review treatment progress and address concerns.
- Complete intake interviews, assessments (including TRAS), and required documentation.
- Prepare court reports, violation reports, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
- Coordinate with counselors, probation officers, courts, and other agencies.
- Conduct drug screenings, field visits, and supervise resident furloughs.
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, court hearings, and testify when required.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and ensure confidentiality.
- Respond to resident emergencies and disciplinary issues, including being on-call 24/7 as required.
- Assist with policy development and maintain compliance with state (TDCJ-CJAD) standards and PREA requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required).
- Ability to obtain Community Supervision Officer and Residential Supervision Officer certifications within one year.
- Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform well under stress.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a criminal background check.
- CPR/First Aid readiness and ability to respond to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, substance abuse treatment, or community corrections.
- Two years of residential community supervision experience.
- Experience with personnel management and technical writing.

This role combines the responsibilities of a probation officer, case manager, and residential supervisor. You will:
- Help residents successfully complete court-ordered treatment.
- Hold them accountable to court and facility rules.
- Coordinate services and treatment.
- Prepare legal documentation for the courts.
- Ensure the safety and security of the facility while supporting residents’ rehabilitation.
Hours
Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $47,000.00 per year
