Tiegerman Community Services is looking for a full-time Residential Manager for our Farmingdale, NY residence.
The Residential Manager (RM) is responsible for ensuring that the needs of individuals supported in the program are met, promoting their rights, health, and safety, and helping them achieve personal outcomes. The RM manages and directs the operations of the residence along with the Assistant Manager.
The schedule for this position is Sunday – Thursday.
Salary Range: $58K - $64K
Responsibilities:
- Supervising staff and spending a majority of the time, particularly evenings, on the floor monitoring staff interactions and overall work performance
- Serve as an advocate for staff, supervising and assisting with their daily endeavors.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff members and assist with ongoing training of all staff
- Attend and actively participate in all required trainings, staff meetings, and residents' meetings
- Participate in the evaluation process for all staff
- Scheduling and shift coverage
- on-call in the absence of the Assistant Manager or any other staff members (sick, vacation or as needed basis)
- Receive, review, process, file and submit a variety of documents and reports accurately and within a timely manner
- Complete records and documentation (e.g. daily data collection, progress notes, medication administration records, etc.)
- Attend and participate in an individual’s doctor visits
- Handle emergencies according to emergency procedures; assist with fire drills
- Ensure that individuals are engaged and supervised at all times
- Work cooperatively with individuals to ensure an environment that values individual differences and respects the rights and opinions of all residents through open communication, appropriately confronting each other with concerns and issues
- Keep residents informed of important dates, activities, schedule/routine changes, etc.
- Know individuals well enough to know when an individual is experiencing difficulty, i.e., eating, drinking, or lack of interest, etc., and follow-up appropriately
- Assist in managing funds
- Assist with grocery shopping; plan and prepare meals
- Ensure a clean, safe and orderly environment for staff and individuals by performing general cleaning and light housekeeping
- Encourage individuals to participate in community activities and encourage peer relationships
- Maintain weekly contact with Parents/Caregivers, Relatives, and other significant people in the lives of the individuals, providing updates on progress, medical and etc.
- Act as liaison to all agencies involved in services for individuals i.e. work, day program and etc.
- Ensure maintenance of the home is completed in accordance with the schedule
- Assist with problem-solving between individuals or staff and ensure their safety
- Must be On-Call to cover any shifts in which an employee calls out
- Must ensure that the residence is fully staffed at all time
- Must always be On-Call to handle any employee relation issues, scheduling conflicts, or work-related emergencies
- Other duties as assigned by Administration

Qualifications
- Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) Required.
- Experience as a supervisor in a residential setting Preferred.
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulations Required.
- Valid NYS Drivers License with a minimum of three years of experience
- Must be able to work a Sunday – Thursday Schedule
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required, Bachelors Preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
