Respiratory Care Practitioner - Full Time - Santa Rosa

Position Overview:


Our client is seeking highly motivated and skilled Registered Care Practitioners | Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) to join their talented team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Care will be routine, emergency and critical care of adults and neonatal in the ICU
  • Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy such as arterial blood gases, vital signs or blood chemistry, and lung function changes, and consulting with physicians if there are adverse reactions
  • Work as part of a team of health care professionals to manage patient care by assisting with medical procedures
  • Set up and operating devices including therapeutic gas administration apparatus, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
  • Follow specified parameters of treatment
  • Provide emergency care, such as external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently
  • Maintain charts that contain patient identification and therapy information
  • Measure arterial blood gases, reading prescriptions, lung capacity, and reviewing other information to assess patient condition
  • Relay blood analysis results to a physician
  • Make emergency visits to resolve equipment problems when necessary
  • Order equipment repairs when necessary
  • Explain health care treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation
  • Check pulmonary function in patients

Qualifications:


  • Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or technical college course for respiratory therapy
  • Registration or certification by the national board for respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice
  • 1 year or more experience in respiratory therapy working with respiratory equipment
  • Current BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Familiar with safety and confidentiality standards
