Since opening a small Mitre 10 store in Warkworth in 2009, we have expanded to include Mitre 10 MEGA Albany—New Zealand’s largest hardware store—along with locations in New Lynn, Warkworth, Whangaparāoa, and Silverdale. Our group also operates Columbus Coffee cafés, a Distribution Centre, and a Frame & Truss Manufacturing Plant.

The Role

Due to an internal promotion opportunity, we now have a Taem Leader position available.

We’re looking for a Retail Leader to join our Mitre 10 MEGA New Lynn team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience. In this role, you’ll be leading a team, driving sales, and ensuring that our department runs efficiently, while fostering a great team culture.

With a focus on coaching and mentoring, you’ll be responsible for motivating your team, supporting their development, and ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to provide top-tier service. You’ll also be hands-on in maintaining stock levels, ensuring product availability, and keeping the department in top shape for our customers.

What You'll Bring

We’re open to retail leaders from a variety of backgrounds—including DIY, gardening, FMCG, or grocery. The key to success in this role is strong leadership and a passion for customer service.

To be successful, you will have:
✔ Team Leader experience, managing a team of 10+
✔ An ability to coach and develop a team, setting them up for success.
✔ Stock management and merchandising skills, ensuring product availability and presentation.
✔ A customer-first mindset, always striving to enhance the shopping experience.
✔ A collaborative and positive approach, leading by example.
