Retail Operational Excellence Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Operation Excellence Expert with 6-7 years of experience to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in leading various projects focused on enhancing retail operational excellence, streamlining processes, and optimizing overall performance. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of retail technology, exceptional project and program management skills, and strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate financial acumen, with the capability to calculate and model savings and P&L impacts.

What are we looking for?

  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of retail technology systems (e.g., POS systems, inventory management software) and proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) is a plus, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 6-7 years of experience in retail operations, project management, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead and Manage Projects: Oversee multiple projects aimed at improving operational efficiency within retail environments. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Process Optimization: Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements across various retail operations to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Change Management: Facilitate change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions during process implementations and technology upgrades.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, department heads, and frontline employees.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather insights, share best practices, and drive alignment on operational excellence initiatives.
  • Change Management: Sponsor great Change Management practices, provide training and support to teams on new processes and technologies, ensuring a thorough understanding and adoption.
  • Financial Acumen: Utilize financial analysis skills to assess the impact of operational changes on the P&L. Calculate potential savings and model financial outcomes of proposed initiatives.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on project progress, financial impacts, and operational metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Retail Technology and Innovation

  • Technology Integration: Collaborate with IT and technology vendors to ensure the successful implementation of retail technology solutions that support operational excellence and enabling process rollout
  • Innovation in Retail Technology: Stay ahead of industry trends by researching and evaluating innovative retail technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, IoT) that can enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. Propose and pilot new technology initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in retail technology to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
