Retail Sales Associate (Budtender – Full Time)
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour - $20.00/hour
Location: Portland, Maine
Type of Work: Full-Time
Schedule: Must have availability on weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

High Value Cannabis is an Adult Use Cannabis retail store located in Portland, Maine. The Retail Associate is responsible for daily operations relating to customer service, inventory management and cash handling.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome customers to the store in a professional and accommodating manner to ensure an excellent customer service experience.
• Provide knowledgeable assistance regarding products and their effects to help customers feel educated and supported in their decision.
• Build a trusting relationship with customers; offer personalized suggestions and advice and encourage customers to use loyalty programs.
• Resolve customer inquiries, issues or concerns in a professional and effective manner, ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized and visually appealing display.
• Prepare inventory for sale; properly label, count and stock inventory onto the retail floor.
• Execute sales transactions; Verify ID’s, add and update customer profiles accordingly, operate the POS (point-of-sale) system, ensure accuracy in cash handling.
• Help management; open and close the store, implement established procedures, stay on top of current regulations, suggest ideas to increase sales through marketing and promotions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass all background checks as mandated by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy to obtain an Individual Identification Card.
• Previous experience in a retail customer-facing role utilizing a point-of-sale system with focus on inventory and cash management. (Cannabis experience preferred but not required)
• The ability to excel in a fast past environment while maintaining a positive attitude, accommodating communication and flexible prioritization.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and de-escalate customer concerns.
• Basic proficiency in math and computer applications to support transactions.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to sit and/or stand for 8-hour shifts.
• Repetitive use and hands and fingers.

Payment Schedule:

• Employees are paid bi-weekly via Direct Deposit.
