Job Description

Hourly Range: $23.00/hour to $27.00/hour ($47,000 - $57,000 salary per year) based on qualifications. Chamber benefits program and cell phone deduction. We offer great retail store hours and our Store Managers typically work 35-40 hours per week. Retail Store Managers are responsible for the overall day-to-day storefront operations of the Red Wing Shoe Store, including overseeing customer experience, managing all store personnel, and maintaining the storefront operations.

  • Promote and support the high-quality Red Wing brand image through professional selling
  • Ensure clients are provided the highest level of service, including custom fitting and footwear conditioning
  • Maintain an exceptional retail sales culture by recruiting and training Retail Sales Associates; responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, coaching, training and performance management of all Sales Associates
  • Other management responsibilities include staff scheduling, controlling expenses, assisting with ordering and returns, assisting with account receivable processes, managing inventory, visual merchandising, and sales lead development

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary 1+ year plus management experience; college/technical training or degree is preferred (or a combination of experience and education will be considered)
  • Enjoy meeting, serving and interacting with customers
  • Dependability and flexibility with scheduled work shifts
  • Understanding of “retail” hours, which include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours
  • Strong computer experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook; POS experience is an asset
  • Hands-on knowledge of principles and methods for demonstrating, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategies and tactics, referral / lead generation, and sales techniques
  • Demonstrated success with working as part of a team culture where consistently in work attendance, following routines, training, motivating and retaining talent is essential
  • Positive energy, enthusiasm and motivated demeanour
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Effective communication style when working with clients, personnel and management
  • Must pass a criminal record check and provide three work references

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Store maintenance duties including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping and waxing floors, washing windows and setting up and maintaining displays
  • Computerized office work

Additional Information

  • Located in The Commons at Eagle Ridge, Fort McMurray
  • Hours of Operation:

Mon - Fri 10 AM - 9PM, Sat 10 AM - 6 PM, Sun 10 AM - 5PM

  • Option to participate in Chambers of Commerce Group Health Benefits Program for employees employed over 20 hours per week.
