Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Ripsaw Labourer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty ripsaws and other power tools to cut and prepare wood materials for various construction and finishing projects. Your energetic approach will contribute to efficient production workflows while ensuring safety and precision on the job site.

Duties

  • Operate ripsaws and power tools to accurately cut wood materials according to project specifications
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving lumber and finished products around the workshop or job site
  • Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure working environment
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements
  • Support carpentry, framing, or finishing teams with material preparation as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure tools are properly stored after use
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals efficiently

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with construction tools, power tools, or in a construction environment is preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions clearly
  • Familiarity with hand tools such as saws, drills, chisels, and measuring devices
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures
  • Physical stamina to stand, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day
  • Basic understanding of construction processes including framing, concrete forming, or masonry is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
