About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our RMO Unit team.
You will be responsible for providing administrative and functional assistance to support the effective and efficient operation of the RMO Unit and RMO Workforce. You’ll be joining an existing team of coordinators so being a team player is a must.

The RMO unit plays a pivotal rose in providing administrative support to our junior doctors (Resident Medical Officers) ranging from the first year out of medical school to their final year in training. You will get to know our junior doctors and provide valuable assistance to their work in Health New Zealand| Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay.
About you
You will need to be someone who is self-motivated, has great initiative and excellent communication skills. Professionalism is key to this position and you will need to be relied upon to effectively manage confidential information which means you need to have superior planning and organisational skills.
This position would interest someone who is looking for the opportunity to gain additional administration skills and learn more about the running of a Hospital.
You will also need the following key attributes and skills:
- Have an understanding of high-level clerical and administration principles
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- A strong customer service focus with ability to develop effective working relationships
- The ability to manage highly confidential issues
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
