The role. Working nights on the Cardiology/PCU, you will care for patients presenting with acute cardiac and neurological diagnoses including STEMI, non-STEMI, stroke, post-catheterization recovery, and alcohol withdrawal. You will monitor and manage patients in an intermediate care setting, interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to changes in hemodynamic status. The unit manages a patient population requiring close telemetry surveillance and coordinated care with cardiology and critical care teams. You will apply clinical judgment in titrating medications and escalating care for time-sensitive cardiac events, including patients transported to this facility as a regional trauma and PCI-capable referral center.
What we're looking for.
- Associate degree in Nursing or higher required
- Active RN license required prior to start date; New Mexico licensure or Compact licensure accepted (candidates without NM or Compact licensure must obtain prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
- Minimum 1 year of IMC or cardiology experience required; 2 years preferred
- BLS certification required at time of submission
- All additional required life support certifications may be obtained after hire (refer to Life Support Certification document for specifics)
- Resume must reflect nurse practicum and all experience dated in MM/YYYY format
