Rn Mds Coordinator

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable MDS Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing the quality of patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of clinical documentation, health information management, and patient care processes. The MDS Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate assessments and documentation are maintained.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their needs and eligibility for services.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to improve clinical documentation and ensure accuracy in patient records.
  • Utilize Sigma software for managing health information and documenting patient care effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding to optimize reimbursement processes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on MDS processes, documentation standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and outcomes.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations related to home care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and clinical documentation improvement.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Must have experience with MDS 3.0.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices.
  • Long Term Care Experience Required.
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation improvement strategies is a plus.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems, particularly Sigma.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
