Shiloh’s Hope is seeking a RN, full-time, 8am-4pm M-F, to provide nursing oversight to eleven local residential sites and medication training.
The RN would ideally be self-driven to identify new ways to improve the Medication Administration practices and overall quality of medical care provided on every level of Shiloh’s Hope throughout all of Shiloh’s Hope’s residences.
The RN (among other nursing related duties) would be responsible for oversight to the review of Medication Administration Records (MARs) via completing quarterly (at minimum) Medication Administration Record Reviews (MARRs) for each individual served by Shiloh’s Hope. In these reviews, the RN would ensure that all of Shiloh’s Hope’s practices are aligned with the training provided by the RN (along with Shiloh’s Hope’s policies) and that the practices are compliant with DHS licensing standards. The RN is responsible for providing Medication Administration training to new hires and annually thereafter for long-term staff.
A level of medical expertise/background is expected of the RN position. While Shiloh’s Hope is not a skilled nursing facility, clientele served by Shiloh’s Hope do have varying medical needs/diagnoses including but not limited to: dietary management, diabetic protocols (i.e. blood sugar checks, administering insulin, skin checks, administering glucose tablets, etc.), management of infectious diseases, management of various cancer diagnoses, movement disorders, and seizure disorders.
The RN would work to ensure that residential staff have the training and tools that they need to be able to administer medications and follow medical orders confidently and safely. Additionally, the RN would communicate/discuss within Shiloh’s Hope management to convey new ideas, practices, or policies that could be implemented to further improve Shiloh’s Hope’s medical practices and then follow through with the implementation of said ideas, practices, or policies once agreed upon within management.
The ideal RN would take medications and the medical needs of clientele served by Shiloh’s Hope seriously above all else and it should be their primary goal to ensure that those needs are met by Shiloh’s Hope or outside professionals as needed. Among other efforts to ensure ongoing improvement as it relates to Shiloh’s Hope’s medical practices, the RN would be the primary person responsible for tracking medication and treatment related errors and then implementing improvement plans via disciplinary action, training, or policy/practice modifications on an organizational level.
