Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery

Location: Kodiak, AK
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Shift: Day Shift (40 hours per week)

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse in our Surgery department, you’ll play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients throughout their surgical experience. Working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals, you’ll ensure a safe, compassionate, and efficient surgical environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in the surgery unit, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery and ensure they understand the procedure and associated risks.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment.
  • Monitor patient status throughout surgery and respond to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments in line with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care, medications, and any follow-up requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensure: Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or perioperative setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in surgery, perioperative, or operating room nursing.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
