Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ROSS Service Coordinator to join our team. Within the Housing Authority’s Resident Services Program. The ROSS Program. Service Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the Housing Authority’s ROSS Grant Program in keeping with the Grant’s Planning, Implementation and Outcome Measures as detailed in the e-Logic Model. In addition, the ROSS Service Coordinator is responsible to collect data, record all applicable data elements, and provide reports that will directly support independent evaluations to determine the effectiveness of the ROSS Program at the Housing Authority
Duties
- Coordinate a Local Program Coordinating Committee (PCC) with local service providers to ensurethat program participants are linked to supportive services needed to achieve self-sufficiency.The Service Coordinator will act as a liaison between the residents/PHA and local service providers.
- Market the program to residents, including residents that are single parent heads-of-household and at-risk youth and/or transition age youth, and/or residents who are elderly and disabled.
- Provide general case management which includes intake, assessment, education, and referral of residents to service providers in the local community.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of services, ensuring services are provided on a regular, ongoing, and satisfactory basis.
- Schedules, plans, and coordinates programs and activities for public housing/community residents.
- Performs public relations and public educational activities designed to acquaint concerned community individuals/organizations with Center and at large community programs and activities.
- Coordinate and sponsor educational events, which may include topics relating to health care, job search seminars, life skills training and digital literacy.
- Assist the PHA to create a resident group to promote self-sufficiency efforts and/or encourage residents to build informal support networks with other residents, family, and friends.
- Maintaining all documentation, filing and reporting, including HUD Reports, associated with the ROSS Grant Program.
- Submits data for compilation of monthly Board reports.
- Submits monthly calendar of planned activities.
- Submits Project Report for each major activity planned at least one month prior to the event.
- Assists with Community Policing Program assessing, evaluating and developing strategies to reduce illegal criminal and drug activities.
Qualification and Skills:
- The Service Coordinator Qualifications established in the NOFA as Minimum Qualifications for a ROSS-SC include the following:
- A Bachelor of Social Work or degree in Gerontology, Psychology or Counseling is preferable; although any other completed college degree is fully acceptable. You may also consider individuals who do not have a college degree, but who have relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of procedures and eligibility for federal and applicable state entitlement programs; legal liability issues relating to providing Service Coordination;
- For applicants proposing to serve elderly residents, the ROSS-SC should possess knowledge of the aging process, elder services, disability services, drug and alcohol use and abuse by the elderly, and mental health issues;
- Two to three years’ experience in social service delivery for low-income youth, adults, senior citizens and/or people with disabilities;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources for youth, adults, senior citizens and/or non-elderly people with disabilities available in the local area;
- Valid Driver’s License.
