Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $20 – $25 per hour, commensurate with experience
- 2 weeks paid vacation annually

- Company vehicle provided for work-related driving (must be returned to office daily)
Work Hours
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Adjusted hours may be required to meet project or delivery needs

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Runner to support our construction teams by transporting materials, equipment, and documents, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Position Summary
The Runner / Material Transport Specialist is responsible for picking up, delivering, and moving construction materials, supplies, and documents between job sites, the warehouse, and vendors. This role ensures that crews and subcontractors have the materials they need on time and in the right location. The position requires a dependable individual who is comfortable driving frequently, lifting heavy items, driving trucks with trailers or box vans, and safely operating equipment such as forklifts. The role will also assist with jobsite cleanup as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Material & Equipment Handling
- Pick up, deliver, and stage materials, tools, and parts for job sites, warehouse, and office
- Move materials within homes under construction and within the warehouse
- Load and unload trucks using proper safety procedures and equipment
- Assist with jobsite cleanup, including removal of debris and organizing materials
Transportation & Deliveries
- Drive company-provided vehicle, including trucks with trailers or box vans, to transport items between vendors, suppliers, warehouse, and job sites
- Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, fueled, and returned to the office at the end of each shift
- Deliver time-sensitive items, including documents, permits, and parts, as directed
Support & Coordination
- Ensure required materials are in the right place at the right time to minimize project delays
- Communicate with supervisors, project managers, and vendors to confirm accurate pickups and deliveries
- Maintain records of deliveries, mileage, and time spent on tasks
Safety & Compliance
- Safely operate forklifts and follow all company safety policies
- Adhere to traffic laws and safe driving practices while transporting materials
- Maintain a clean driving record and uphold Harvest Homes’ standards of professionalism
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction support, warehouse, or delivery preferred
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable driving the majority of the workday, including trucks with trailers or box vans
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred, training provided if needed)
- Strong reliability, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Working Conditions
- Work performed in warehouse, office, and active construction site environments
- Frequent driving between job sites, vendors, and warehouse locations using company vehicle
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction environments
- Regular lifting, loading, and moving of materials up to 50 lbs
- Jobsite cleanup tasks including moving, lifting, and debris removal
90-Day Probationary Period
All new hires are subject to a 90-day introductory period. During this time, performance, reliability, and communication will be closely evaluated. Upon successful completion, the employee may be confirmed as a regular team member. This probationary period does not alter the at-will nature of employment under West Virginia labor law.
