Rural Hospital Medicine Registrars
Health New Zealand |Te Whatu Ora Lakes

Rural Hospital Medicine Registrar

Trainee or Non-Training

Taupō Hospital

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Through integration and collaboration, we’re building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.

Mō te tūranga / About the role

As our population expands and the number of national and international events held in Taupō grows year on year we have designed a more dynamic and sustainable medical model which provides an exciting clinical pathway for training registrars who want to work in a relaxed and collegial environment with excellent SMO, nursing, allied and management support.

We are an accredited training site for a Level 3 Rural Hospital Medicine attachment and can support FACEM trainees to complete a Special Skills Placement. If you are not in a recognised training programme but are keen to work in a non-training position, we would love to hear from you as well.

We are seeking five new registrars to join our existing three registrars who will work a 24/7 roster of either rural hospital medicine (ward, clinic and ED) or ED only based on your preferences and experience. The new positions will be available from the start of Quarter two being 28 April 2025. If you are committed to a current run and won’t be available to move until later in the year we fully understand that are happy to be flexible.
