Taconic,a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes has an opportunity available for a Safety Manager who provides oversight and management of Human Health and Safety activities. Coordinates and/or performs all duties necessary to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, and in-plant safety programs for Petersburgh, NY, La Verne, CA, and Ontario, Canada facilities. Provides guidance and management of Safety Coordinator.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Management Studies or related discipline and five years of health and safety experience within a manufacturing setting.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to keep groups focused on tasks and to prioritize tasks based on changing working conditions and customer and coworker expectations.
- Positive approach to change management including an understanding of the human aspects of change management. It is important for the individual who fills this position to be self-motivated and inclined toward continuous personal improvement, education, and development for themselves and others.
- Excellent written, oral and computer skills required. Experience working with regulatory agencies. Have knowledge of company manufacturing processes with the ability to recommend changes as necessary.
- Have experience or training knowledge in Industrial Hygiene and OSHA regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
