Introduction:
Part-Time Safety Officer
Valeo Construction Group | South Melbourne HQ
$80K + Super (Pro Rata) | 3 Days Per Week

Valeo Construction Group is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Part-Time Safety Officer to join our growing OHS team. This role is based at our South Melbourne headquarters, with regular site visits across our project locations. Working three days per week, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our safety systems, while receiving mentorship and development opportunities in a supportive environment.

Description:
Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of OHS management systems
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards
Assist in preparing for and participating in Federal Safety Commission (FSC) audits
Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, registers, and incident records
Work closely with project and site teams to foster a proactive safety culture
Assist with incident investigations and follow-up actions

Skills and Experiences:
About You

Experience in a safety-focused role, ideally within construction or a related high-risk industry
Auditing experience highly valued, especially in relation to FSC audits
Sound knowledge of federal safety accreditation requirements (OFSC/FSC) is highly desirable
Excellent administrative skills and a keen eye for detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to site locations regularly
