Overview:
The Sales and Business Expansion Associate is Biomed’s front-line ambassador responsible for generating goodwill, fostering strong client relationships, and driving the company’s growth into new markets. While performing all core sales duties alongside our existing Sales Associate, this role also plays a strategic part in developing and implementing plans to expand Biomed’s waste management operations into an adjacent province. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship-building skills with strategic thinking, project coordination, and research capabilities.
Core Sales Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular contact with key client personnel and strengthen professional relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, complaints, and sales negotiations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Monitor tendering platforms RFP opportunities. Assist in drafting, submitting, and managing proposals and contracts.
- Disseminate key contract terms to Biomed employees and customers and help design/maintain service agreements with clarity and consistency.
- Collaborate with accounting and operations to set and update pricing, maintain product catalogues, and issue current price lists.
- Develop and maintain marketing materials, digital presence, and promotional events to increase Biomed’s visibility.
- Conduct container mount audits, manage the Secure-A-Sharp registry, and strive to convert customers to Biomed’s subscription program.
- Perform market research and customer satisfaction surveys; represent Biomed in lobbying and public relations efforts.
Business Growth and Logistics Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive market research on potential new provinces, identifying regulatory requirements, competition, partnership opportunities, and logistical needs (e.g., transportation routes, disposal site options, local infrastructure).
- Work in collaboration with the Biomed team to develop a detailed expansion roadmap that includes budget forecasts, client acquisition strategies, and operational setup guidelines.
- Build relationships with provincial and municipal contacts, waste management authorities, and regional business partners to support market entry.
- Contribute to operational planning for out-of-province logistics, including depot locations, routing strategies, and service coverage models.
- Assess staffing, training, and resource needs related to launching services in new markets.
- Develop targeted promotional material and campaigns suited to the new province’s demographics and industry landscape.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) linked to expansion readiness and report progress regularly to leadership.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to align expansion goals with existing sales, operations, and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in sales, client account management, or business development.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or Environmental Management considered an asset.
- Experience in a healthcare profession would be considered and asset
- Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License; travel within and beyond Saskatchewan required.
- Strong analytical and logistical planning abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with digital tools (Research databases, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
