**Overview:**
Are you a people person with a love for helping others? Join our team as a Sales Associate!
The Sales Associate provides prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service. Key tasks include advising on merchandise, processing transactions, replenishing stock, cycle counting, and maintaining current industry trends.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Assist customers in-store and online (homehardware.com).
- Greet customers upon entry.
- Determine and fulfill customer needs.
- Communicate product knowledge.
- Process special orders and assist with heavy items.
- Step in or cover for other employees when needed.
- Maintain store standards: loss prevention, pricing, merchandise handling, housekeeping, and restocking.
- Update prices and build/remove displays.
- Follow safety precautions and minimize waste.
- Unload trucks and verify incoming merchandise.
- Keep storage areas organized.
- Participate in cycle counting and annual inventory.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Work on assigned special projects and additional duties.
- Adhere to provincial and federal safety legislation; report hazards and unsafe behavior.
**Qualifications:**
- Flexible schedule availability (weekends, holidays).
- Friendly and helpful attitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good math skills.
- Prior retail experience is a plus.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
