We are seeking an engaging, motivated, and results-driven Sales & Catering Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for maximizing catering, meeting room, and assigned group revenues through proactive sales efforts, account management, solicitation, relationship building, and the generation of new business.
The Sales & Catering Manager will work closely with hotel leadership and operational departments to ensure a seamless experience from the initial sales process through event execution and post-event follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit and secure catering, meeting room, and assigned group business to achieve established revenue goals.
- Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, community involvement, and relationship building.
- Manage assigned accounts and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incoming sales and catering inquiries.
- Conduct client appointments, site inspections, property tours, and presentations showcasing the hotel's facilities, services, and capabilities.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), menus, group resumes, and other event-related documentation accurately and timely.
- Manage all aspects of assigned events from the initial sales process through pre-event planning, execution, and post-event follow-up.
- Partner with clients to understand their vision, objectives, budget, food and beverage needs, room setup, audiovisual requirements, and other event details.
- Maintain a proactive approach to identifying opportunities within corporate, association, government, wedding, social, and other applicable market segments.
- Capture group business associated with meeting room space as well as standalone group opportunities, when applicable.
- Maintain accurate sales activities, account information, contracts, traces, and lost-business information within the hotel's designated sales and catering system.
- Achieve or exceed established catering, meeting room, and assigned group revenue goals.
- Maintain an understanding of hotel performance, market conditions, competitive hotels, pricing, and relevant sales reports.
- Analyze sales activity and market information to identify opportunities and make informed business decisions.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales, General Manager, Food & Beverage leadership, and other department leaders to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Coordinate menus, pricing, room layouts, and event requirements with appropriate hotel leadership.
- Communicate event details effectively across departments to ensure operational teams have accurate and timely information.
- Attend and assist with event setup and execution as necessary to ensure client expectations and hotel standards are met.
- Conduct pre-convention and pre-event meetings when appropriate.
- Follow up with clients following events to measure satisfaction, resolve concerns, and identify future business opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of CMC Hotels policies, brand standards, and Sales & Catering policies and procedures.
- Represent CMC Hotels and the property professionally within the hotel, community, and local business market.
- Participate in sales meetings, revenue meetings, networking events, and other business-development activities as assigned.
- Perform additional sales, catering, and operational responsibilities as assigned by hotel leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hotel sales, catering sales, event management, or related hospitality experience preferred.
- Previous hotel catering and/or group sales experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent hospitality experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to develop business, build client relationships, and achieve revenue goals.
- Strong understanding of catering operations, food and beverage standards, and event planning.
- Knowledge of meeting room setups, capacities, catering layouts, and event flow.
- Ability to understand hotel sales reports, market trends, competitive positioning, and revenue opportunities.
- Experience with hotel sales and catering systems.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel-related systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, events, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Banquets, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments.
- Professional appearance and demeanor with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to the overall success of the hotel team.
- Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business and event needs require.
