Location: Finland (preferably Helsinki area or another major city)

Malvern Panalytical, part of the Spectris Group, is seeking a Sales Engineer based in Finland to lead sales efforts for our market-leading Malvern Panalytical product portfolio. This is a high-impact position with the opportunity to expand into additional technologies over time.
You will be responsible for generating and closing business across a broad range of customers and industries in Finland. Working independently in the field, you will identify opportunities, manage the sales process end-to-end, and build strong, long-term relationships.
You will report to the Sales Manager for Nordics and Benelux and collaborate closely with regional and global teams to support growth.
What will you be responsible for?
  • Drive and close new business opportunities for the Malvern Panalytical product portfolio in Finland.
  • Use value-based and consultative selling to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Execute strategic and tactical sales activities to exceed territory sales targets.
  • Build and manage a healthy, forward-looking pipeline through proactive prospecting and account development.
  • Deliver impactful product presentations and support technical evaluations and demonstrations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Operate independently in your territory while aligning with defined sales guidelines, pricing structures, and business priorities.
  • Receive and act on strategic direction from the sales leadership, ensuring business-critical tasks are prioritized and executed accordingly.
  • Accurately maintain customer data, opportunities, and forecasts in Salesforce CRM.
  • Provide actionable feedback to internal stakeholders on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
  • Represent Malvern Panalytical with professionalism, ethics, and a strong customer-first approach.
What do you need to succeed?
  • At least 2 years of experience in technical or scientific solution sales, ideally in laboratory instruments or equipment.
  • Proven negotiation and closing skills, with a clear focus on delivering results.
  • A go-getter mindset, able to spot opportunities and act on them with urgency and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to resolve challenges independently while following internal policies and frameworks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your schedule, while also responding to and prioritizing directives from leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Finnish and English.
  • Organized, methodical, and attentive to detail in managing the full sales cycle.
  • Willingness to travel within Finland and occasionally to other Nordic or European countries.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with particle characterization, X-ray analysis, or other scientific instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM.
  • Knowledge of or experience with structured sales methodologies (e.g., solution selling, consultative selling, etc.).
  • A collaborative mindset and adaptability when working across teams or cultures.
