Description:
Are you ready to be the local face of a major fuel and lubricant distributor in Darling Downs and South West Queensland? Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this role will afford you a high level of autonomy to be accountable for the development, growth & management of a diverse portfolio of customers across the region. The role is critical as it balances both the retention of existing customers and the development of new business in a dedicated portfolio across Darling Downs and South West Queensland, based in Toowoomba.
You will be responsible for:
- Customer retention and acquisition including proposal/tender preparation where required,
- Ownership of the revenue side of the ledger,
- Liaising with your relevant Depot Managers and Support Function Teams as required,
- Strategic Planning for sales and our offer in the Region,
- Undertaking the necessary training and upskilling sessions,
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team,
- Ability to continually evolve and grow while handling and overcoming setbacks & challenges.
- Current C Class driver's licence (minimum requirement)
- HR & Forklift licences preferred but not essential
- A formal business qualification preferred
- Previous experience in a sales role covering a territory with a customer base across primary producers, transport, industrial/commercial, mining or similar roles is preferred
- A strong sales acumen & skill set
- Strong communicator - written, verbal & personal
- Good business and personal network in the Region
- Ability to travel for a week or two every month or as required
- Ability to think on your feet and come up with solutions
- A good understanding of the Region, it's customer base and their needs
- A strong contributor to strategic planning & executor of these plans
- Ability to produce reports as required
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently but also as part of a high functioning team
- Have the internal desire to be a great sales person. Skills can be taught, attitude can't. We develop our sales people really well.
