Sales Specialist Rails & Special Sections

As a Sales specialist at ArcelorMittal Europe Long Products, you will play a crucial role in the selling of Rails and Special Sections worldwide.

Integrating the AMCS Rails& Special Sections team, reporting to the Product lines Manager, you will quote and manage sales to EU and Export markets directly and/or supporting sales networks in place related to countries and/or products (LCE sales offices, ArcelorMittal International (AMI), ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions (AMDS), dedicated Sales Agents) in accordance with local market specificities and technical requirements of the mills.

This position involves issuing offers, negotiating contracts, focusing mostly on AM LPL Rodange’s special products : Cathod bars, Track shoes, grooved rails, crane rails.

Ensure contract conditions with respect of commercial policies and mills capacities and enhancing customer satisfaction, being directly in touch with most of them.

Connected to your markets, enlarge business and identify potential opportunities for further development.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Management (pricing and contract set-up):

  • Process customer's inquiries and issue offers (technical part and pricing).
  • Check technical feasibility as well as rolling plan with production units.
  • Consider the logistic aspects, liaising with AMLB, to ensure feasibility and availability so that customers delivery plan is accommodated at the best.
  • When concerned, reflect price and volume targets to AMI sales offices. Guide and support AMI sales offices in volume and price negotiations, bringing technical support also as specialist of the product.

Relationship management with customers and internal stakeholders

  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, agencies, or agents : addressing any inquiries and general sales-related information, providing professional responses to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Address requests and get continuous exchanges with LPL supply chain, CTS (customers technical support) and/or others departments when required
  • Support Order Managers to ensure accurate order registration and follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely with all internal and external stakeholders, providing administrative and operational support to ensure seamless communication and coordination of sales activities and initiatives.
  • Escalate any complex inquiries or technical issues to the appropriate internal teams for prompt resolution and support.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of strong relationships with business clients, ensuring proactive engagement to understand their specific needs and preferences.

Data analysis, reporting, process optimization :

  • Collect and analyze sales data, including sales performance metrics, customer feedback, and market trends, providing valuable insights and recommendations to the Product lines manager for strategic decision-making and sales planning.
  • Ensure acquisition of adequate market intelligence and feedback directly or through sales agencies and other sources.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and dashboards for business sales activities, highlighting key performance indicators, sales trends, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and optimizing the sales process, recommending and implementing efficient workflows, tools, and strategies to enhance overall export sales performance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications :

  • Open minded and good general behavior
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in a related field (sales, export sales or business development)
  • General understanding of international trade regulations and logistics aspects.
  • A technical background and/or sensibility, and/or knowledge of the product and the production process would be an advantage
  • Good communication and negotiation skills, in an international environment.
  • Efficient team-work and coordination skills
  • Autonomous and capable to take initiatives
  • Flexible, dynamic and open for innovative ideas
  • Effective data-handling and reporting skills
  • Experience with usual MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), knowledge or experience in CRM and digital tools as a plus
  • Compliance with Group rules and strategy
  • Language proficiency: English, French, any other language appreciated.
  • Capability to travel within EU and internationally as well, as needed.
