Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Sample Management Specialist to join our bioanalytical laboratory team. In this role, you will support our regulated bioanalytical projects by ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant handling of a high volume of biological samples. Sample management plays a pivotal role in the success of our studies. You will be responsible for receiving, registering, tracking, storing, and distributing samples in accordance with established procedures, regulatory expectations, and project timelines. Your work will directly contribute to the quality and integrity of our scientific results.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Receive and log incoming samples with accuracy and attention to detail according to written instructions
- Maintain clear and traceable sample inventories in laboratory systems
- Monitor sample condition upon arrival
- Ensure proper sample storage conditions
- Prepare and dispatch samples for shipment
- Support project teams by providing up-to-date sample status information
- Contribute to process improvements related to sample flow, documentation, and logistics
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle large sample volumes
- Comfort with routine, process-driven tasks requiring precision
- Ability to work independently, reliably, and with a high sense of responsibility
- Good communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Accurate record-keeping and documentation skills in Finnish and ability to follow sample documentation in
English.
Desirable:
- Relevant scientific qualification (e.g. Vocational Qualification in Laboratory Technology) or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in a laboratory or regulated environment
