Sample Prep / Lab Assistant – (Ngakawau)

SGS are looking for a Sample Preparation / Laboratory Assistant to join our supportive team at Ngakawau. This is a great opportunity for someone who is well organised, friendly, and keen to work in a laboratory environment.

In this role you will be working Monday to Friday on a 3-shift rotating pattern [0600-1400; 1200-2000; 1700-0100].

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently prepare, analyse and report data of coal samples, with a focus on Drill Hole samples, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Maintain high service levels by adhering to standard operating procedures and meeting client demands and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Provide excellent customer service and work with management to maximise business returns whilst minimising risk.
• Carry out all activities in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and personal safety guidelines.
• Undertake other relevant tasks as required for the position.

• Effective timekeeping skills and able to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Proven computer skills.
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Proven organisational skills.
• Current forklift license.
• Able to work on a rotaing shift patterm
