Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves driving various types of buses, including school buses and paratransit vehicles, while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. The Bus Driver will also be responsible for educating passengers about safety procedures and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate buses, including school buses and paratransit vehicles, on designated routes.
- Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers at scheduled stops.
- Educate passengers on safety protocols and proper bus etiquette.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Assist passengers with disabilities as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
- Keep accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Knowledge of paratransit operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with school bus driving regulations and best practices.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English; multilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to write clear reports regarding incidents or vehicle conditions as needed.
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules effectively while ensuring passenger safety.
