St. Michael’s House Special National School is located in Raheny, Dublin 5.
We require a School Bus Escort to collect 2 pupils with special needs on a school bus from the Ballymun area. The pupils will be dropped to the school in Raheny, Dublin 5. Applicants must be able to meet the bus at the pick-up point agreed with the bus contractor, typically the child’s house or a location arranged with the bus contractor. The escort will then be on the bus to collect the child from the school in the afternoon and return to Ballymun. This position may suit a candidate who resides in the Ballymun area or nearby.
Employment is on a part-time basis during term-time only with a total of 3 hours per day, 182 days (the duration of the school year). The hourly rate of pay is in line with Department of Education and Skills guidelines for School Bus Escorts. The contract will last for the duration that the route continues to run.
Reliability, excellent time-keeping and fluency in spoken and written English are considered essential.
The Bus Escort is responsible for the safety of the pupil on board the bus and will be required to provide for pupil care needs including, but not limited to, assisting them getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts, supervision, etc.
Appointment is subject, but not limited to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements and Tusla Child Safeguarding training.
