Overview

We are a family-owned and operated business with over 25 years of experience. Our company is looking for a talented, motivated individual to join our team as a seamstress or tailor in the St. Marys area. As a seamstress or tailor at Lil Seabag, you will be responsible for sewing garments while maintaining quality standards at all times. You must have excellent customer service skills along with an ability to work independently or on multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties

The seamstress/tailor is responsible for the care and maintenance of all garments, including cutting, seaming, sewing, hand sewing, and trimming. The seamstress/tailor will be responsible to ensure that each garment meets or exceeds standards set by the company. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area.

Detailed job duties include:

• Sew garments on schedule to exact specifications which include but are not limited to: Mending, hemming, replacing buttons and/or snaps, replace zippers, sewing patches on leather.
• Labeling customers’ garments and articles and recording the alterations required;
• Detail oriented;
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn new skills, as well as experience with sewing machines.
• Must be able to work Monday - Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated sewing ability.
• Communicating with customers to determine their specifications, needs, and preferences;
• Fitting garments on customers to determine how the alterations should be done;
• Current military uniform knowledge is useful.
• Good customer service.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to work in the United States
• Must be able to speak fluent english

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

• This job is not a remote position. We are located in St. Marys, Ga. USA. Are you physically able to come in for an interview and potentially a 2 to 4 hour time frame so we can see how well you work with the sewing machine and repairing clothing?
