Position Overview: The RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg is looking for courteous and professional candidates to join the bartending team for the holiday season. The Centre's Banquet Bartenders provide consistently high levels of service to all banquet guests ensuring an exceptional event experience.

Job Type: Seasonal (Friday and Saturday nights through November & December)

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient bar service to guests during events
• Accurately mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferencesMaintain proper and adequate set-up and tear down of the bars – including stocking of all products
• Communicate and support colleagues to ensure a smooth event
• Occasionally work with a cash float to maintain and reconcile at end of event
• Direct guests to necessary services and features
• After event, removes inventory and all beverage equipment, returning to proper storage
• Observe all sanitation, safety, and service standard guidelines

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a bartender, with knowledge of basic drink mixing and service etiquette
• Must be able to work shifts that include late nights, and weekends.
• Must have a valid Manitoba Smart Choices certification
• Previous experience in a fast-paced environment serving large crowds and various groups
• Able to maintain a calm manner during busy periods while serving guests quickly and efficiently
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job; standing for extended periods of time, lifting and carrying trays of glassware in a safe manner
• A positive and friendly manner. Good interpersonal, communication, and guest service skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Proof of work or student permit will be required upon hire
