Seasonal Grounds Worker

Royal Oak Burial Park is the largest municipality-owned burial park in British Columbia, spanning over 90 acres of beautifully manicured park-like settings. We are seeking a dedicated Seasonal Grounds Worker to join our team.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Grounds Operations Supervisor, you will ensure all tasks are completed safely and on schedule. This seasonal position begins in the spring and may extend into the fall, with the possibility of further extensions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Turf maintenance, including trimming, mowing, blowing, and edging
  • Weeding garden beds
  • Ensuring gardens and landscapes remain neat, tidy, and healthy
  • Basic maintenance of power equipment and vehicles (e.g., checking oil, tires, fueling,)
  • Light maintenance and cleaning of buildings and washrooms
  • Maintaining paths and roadways, and emptying garbage cans
  • Performing general labor and delegated tasks as required
  • Operating backpack blowers, lawnmowers, and grass trimmers
  • Operating utility vehicles, ride on mowers, small dump truck, and Bobcat work vehicles
  • Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • High level of productivity and quality in work
  • Ability to stand/kneel for extended periods, lift and carry heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Pay rate: $31.80 per hour + 10% in lieu benefits
