Job Description:

The Chartroom Bar is seeking a responsible, observant, and professional individual to join our team as a Full-Time Security Personnel. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patrons, staff, and property. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining order, enforcing rules, and providing excellent customer service in a lively and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Patron Safety and Security:

• Monitor the entrance to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
• Conduct bag and ID checks to comply with liquor laws and bar policies.
• Handle disturbances or conflicts in a professional and calm manner, de-escalating situations when necessary.

Premises Monitoring:

• Conduct regular patrols of the bar, washrooms, and outdoor areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Watch for signs of suspicious or disruptive behavior and intervene as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to address security or safety concerns promptly.

Compliance Enforcement:

• Enforce house rules, including smoking, intoxication, and conduct policies.
• Ensure patrons comply with local liquor laws and maintain a respectful demeanor.

Emergency Response:

• Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and evacuations.
• Provide first aid or assistance as needed until emergency services arrive.

Customer Service:

• Provide directions, answer questions, and assist patrons with concerns in a courteous manner.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere while maintaining security standards.
• Qualifications:
• Proven experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field (preferred).
• Valid security license or certification (as per Nunavut regulations).
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and professionally.
• Physically fit, with the ability to stand for extended periods and respond quickly when required.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 60 per week
