Security Guard

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, with a focus on preventing loss and ensuring the safety of all individuals on the premises.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, taking appropriate action as necessary.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential risks and implementing security measures.
• Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and safety within the premises.
• Prepare detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences.
• Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients, employees, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security roles is preferred.
• Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and surveillance operations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security equipment is a plus.
• Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
• Must possess a valid Alberta security guard license
• First Aid
• H2S
• Bear Aware
• WHIMIS
• Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
• Must possess a valid drivers license
• Must have a clean drivers abstract
• Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test

Expected hours: 84 per week

• Alberta Security Guard Licence (required)
• Driving Licence (required)
• First Aid Certification (required)
• WHMIS Certification (preferred)
• H2S Awareness or Alive (required)
• Bear Aware (preferred)

Location:

• Grande Prairie, AB (required)

Willingness to travel:

• 100% (preferred)
