In this role, you'll:

In your role as Security Monitoring Operator, you will contribute to the creation of a safe and secure environment for customers and staff, ensuring passenger safety, preventing equipment damage and theft to assist in improving the customer experience and the overall operations of Sydney Trains.

Detect and report incidents using surveillance equipment on the rail network to assist in creating a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.

Utilise technical surveillance and communication equipment to maintain a high standard of safety and security on the rail network and to assist in the protection of revenue and property.

Provide accurate and timely security information to all stakeholders to improve customer experience and to comply with procedural and legislative guidelines.

Permanent Full time opportunity located in Alexandria, working in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, your team will be supporting the network during normal operations and incidents or emergencies through pro-active CCTV monitoring.

About you



To be successful in this position you will be a customer centred individual with excellent communication skills and genuine interest in contributing to the creation of a safe and secure environment for staff and passengers alike. You will be able to demonstrate:



• Ability and enjoyment in collaborating in a large team, engaging with a wide audience and multiple stakeholders to meet organisational objectives.



• Successful completion or willingness to complete the Security Monitoring Operator training program and specialised on the job training.



• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a high volume and dynamic CCTV control room environment.



• Experience working with electronic security systems, including CCTV and associated software applications.



• Ability to use personal computers and related CCTV software programs; or expertise monitoring CCTV cameras. Any previous experience monitoring security cameras or any security systems is an added advantage for this role as is a security background.



• Proven capacity to provide high quality customer service in a large and complex transport system.



• Working in incident support you may be confronted with upsetting or unwelcome content /vision. Please strongly consider this aspect before applying.
