Introduction:
We're currently looking for a passionate Security Specialist who will be responsible for maintaining the company group (ASDAM) Security Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance with all applicable regulatory, site, customer, and corporate requirements. This role will manage ASDAM’s security obligations under the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) framework. In addition, this person will act as the local representative when liaising with customers and government agencies on all security-related matters affecting ASDAM sites.

Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security governance framework aligned to DSPF, PSPF, DISP, and Defence contractual obligations.
Provide security governance and assurance support to commercial and Defence programs within ASDAM, including program security plans, compliance assessments, and assurance activities.
Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of security documentation, including security policies, procedures, plans, and registers.
Track security risks and support remediation planning and closure in collaboration with Security Team and GM’s.
Support internal and external security audits, reviews, and inspections, including Defence and DISP‑related assessments.
Provide security advice to stakeholders.
Contribute to security reporting for the CSO and senior leadership.

Qualification:
Essential

Familiarity with PSPF physical security, personnel security, and information security domains.
Experience in security governance, assurance, or compliance roles within government or regulated industry environments.
Ability to interpret Defence security requirements and translate them into practical governance and assurance outcomes.
Strong written communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

Experience within Defence primes, aerospace, or complex, multi‑site organisations.
Completed Defence Security Officers course (can be obtained post-employment).
Appropriate level of skill in Information Technology packages such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements and have the ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 security clearance.

Due to the nature of our work and the requirements of our customers, all applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and need to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance as part of employment eligibility.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a current police check, obtain a Commonwealth defence security clearance, and participate in random drug and alcohol screening as part of our commitment to safety and security.
