Semi Truck Shop Supervisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our workshop. Fort Distributors is the largest semi truck/trailer repair shop in the interlake. We are a certified safety inspection station.We require a supervisor to oversee 6 mechanics. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background. This role requires excellent leadership skills to manage a team effectively while ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shop operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
• Lead a team of technicians and operators, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Oversee the use of hand tools, heavy equipment, and machinery.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
• Train new employees on equipment operation, safety practices, and shop procedures.
• Collaborate with management to develop schedules and allocate resources effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inventory levels.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide solutions to maintain workflow efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a mechanical or industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Proficiency in operating hand tools and other heavy equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
• Strong communication skills to interact with team members and management efficiently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Hand tools: 5 years (required)
