Senior Academic Staff Member - Registered Nurses

Wintec | Te Pūkenga invites dynamic and experienced registered nurses (RN) to join our Te Kura o te Oranga (Centre for Health & Social Practice) team in the heart of Waikato. • Facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences for nursing students.
• Instruct and mentor students in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $87,600.00 and $115,000.00, dependent on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

We are looking for people that:

• teaching/education experience is required
• have a current annual practising certificate.
• belong to a relevant professional body.
• have five or more years of experience in the nursing profession.
• possess a valid permit to live and work in New Zealand.
• have an understanding of Te Ao Māori
• have experience in mental health nursing.

If you are an experienced educator, then ideally you will also:

• be able to demonstrate the application of mātauranga Māori in education.
• be able to teach and support ākonga/students in a manner that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• hold a tertiary teaching qualification.
• be actively engaged in research, scholarship, and/or critical reflective research.

Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies is a plus.
