Introduction:
The Seventh-day Adventist Church - Northern Australian Conference is seeking applications for the position of Senior Accountant based in Townsville, Queensland. This is a permanent full-time opportunity within the Accounting & Finance team.

Description:
The Senior Accountant will support the financial operations of the Conference and its affiliated entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and sound stewardship of organisational resources. The role also supports strategic financial planning and oversight of the Adventist Book Centre's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements and management reports
Manage general ledger and accounting functions
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Coordinate internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory requirements
Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Contribute to strategic financial planning and organisational decision-making

Skills and Experiences:
Skills & Experience Required Applicants should hold relevant accounting or finance qualifications and professional membership. Demonstrated experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance is required. Strong communication, organisational, and computer skills are essential.
