Department overview
The Asset Valuation team are responsible for the daily pricing of all securities held by onshore, offshore and institutional funds. The asset types covered include Equity, Fixed Income and Derivative instruments which are valued at multiple valuation points during the day. The team is also responsible for ensuring all assets are priced at fair-value, at both an individual security-level and market-level. The team performs complex data analysis to test the efficacy of the fair value models used, and also ensures the operational aspects of FIL’s Fair Value Committee are performed smoothly.
What you’ll do
You will be expected to assist in the completion of various pricing and fair value related processes, across multiple valuation points.
What you can expect
Operational
Daily checking, investigating and correcting various security prices using pricing vendors such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv
Ensure that the department meets daily internal/external deadlines
Adherence to departmental procedures
Sign off security prices which have exceeded set tolerances
Sign off documentation which will be published to other internal/external departments
Assist in testing/implementation of projects which will impact the department
Works steadily and efficiently throughout the day, maintaining good levels of concentration, even when unsupervised

Desirable skills
Experience in data analysis
Experience in valuation models
Experience in use of Bloomberg, Refinitiv or other Market Data products
Knowledge of equities, fixed income and derivative products (pricing an advantage)
