We're looking for a Senior Analyst Programmer to join us in our Cards & Payments domain. You will join our Cards Issuing team, where you will be working in an agile environment and be responsible for progressing the design, build and implementation of technology solutions to meet our business and customers' needs.
This is an Auckland or Wellington based role having a hybrid model with three days in the office per week.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Our Cards Issuing team looks after Debit and Credit Card systems, which includes enhancements to card features and facilitation of interface processing between P1C and other BNZ systems. We are a tightknit supportive team that is facing into exciting times as we move to modernise our mainframe processes, continue to streamline and find efficiencies in our current processes, and ensure we are ready for the future of payments in New Zealand.

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

Designing creative, simple robust solutions to meet business requirements while adhering to high coding standards.

Building systems to meet customer needs.

Supporting test teams so that systems can be implemented with no issues.

Supporting team members to be the best that they can be so that we provide the best solutions for our customers.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
There are many exciting Cards projects in the pipeline, including new product innovations. We would love to go into detail but due to the nature of the work, it's top secret until the right person is hired.
What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?
We have complex and highly integrated systems, with a high workload demand for our team.
What attributes will this person display to be successful in this role?
We are looking for someone who takes initiative, is proactive, forward thinking, a go getter who can be patient and calm under pressure.
What specific tech skills are required to be successful?

Experience with IBM Mainframe, Cobol, CICS and DB2.

Broad programming experience, with experience in analysis, design, programming, and testing.

Some formal software testing experience, including building test scripts, and conducting systems, unit, and regression testing.

A thorough understanding of the software development and support lifecycles.

Credit Card experience would be an advantage.

API experience would be an advantage.
